Help support the #happy is… project with Kickstarter! I am self-publishing a book of prints and the data behind #happy Instagram photos. #happy is… began with a simple question: what does happiness look like? My research quickly turned to social media to crowdsource information on how people show happiness. I collected information on public Instagram photos hashtagged as #happy for over a year. With a large dataset of information, I used a computer programming language called Processing to create data visualizations. These works have been printed and exhibited in galleries and institutions, but the process behind their creation remained hidden — until now!
Any help is greatly appreciated, even if that means passing word along to your friends and family. Thank you for your support!
