Instagram photos with the #bkcolordata hashtag and a sample of all public Instagram photos from Brooklyn, NY, are entered into a database and then each analyzed to find the average color. The colors values are animated as vertical bands, intersected by selected photo captions.
The animation is currently on view at Brooklyn inFUSION Gallery at Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Brooklyn Infusion Center.
